What Equipment is Required?
To be able to use Zoom for our online music lessons, all you need is an internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone that can connect to it. Zoom works on all devices (computers, laptops, tablets and phones) and across all platforms (PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android).
The easiest way is to use Zoom is through browser (we’ve found that Chrome is best - other browsers are available!) but you can also download the Zoom mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android and you can also get a desktop client version too.
See our how to guides below to find out about camera placement!
How Our Online Music Lessons Work
We’ve tried to make learning online as easy as possible. Once you have decided that you want to learn online with Hogan, simply fill out the form above and click submit. As you would expect, you and the teacher will need to abide by our safeguarding policy which can be found below.
Once your online music classes have been arranged at our end, we will be on contact to confirm the details. You will receive an email that contains a link to “Join Zoom Meeting.” Around 5mins before the start of your lesson, click the link and follow the instruction on the screen. You will join a waiting room ready to start your lesson. When the teacher is ready, they will start the lesson and you will be able to see and hear each other.
