Rowena Overend Music Teacher

Rowena Overend

Music Teacher

Instruments Taught - Violin, Viola and Piano.

Rowena began her musical career learning the piano at an early age of 6. Later she started to learn the violin and was encouraged by her teacher Mark Knight from the Guildhall to also learn the viola. She furthered her violin/viola studies with Gwyn Williams CBSO and achieved a BMus at Birmingham Conservatoire.

Since Rowena began teaching in 1995 she has taught many children and adults of all ages in both individual and group settings. She particularly enjoys teaching beginners and seeing the satisfaction they gain from making good progress quickly.

Rowena worked for Berkshire Maestros and then moved to working in two local prep schools for many years. Here she taught individual lessons and gained experience coaching string ensembles and quartets. She also has home pupils and firmly believes music is out there to be enjoyed.
